Las Vegas, The Monorail, and the Stratosphere

We are now in the Las Vegas area. we spent a week in an rv park in Las Vegas with all the amenities. Finally we had full hook-ups and I was able to wash clothes in my Splendide washer/dryer combo. I've decided no more Laundromats for me this year. After we left Yuma we went to Quartzsite for about a week. We had to wait for our mail and I must say, that was a nightmare story that I won't go into here.  Our main reason for coming to Las Vegas was because they have a huge VA center here and Al had some medical issues (nothing serious) he wanted to have taken care of.  We had already been to Las Vegas 3 years ago, and took in a show and the sights, so we thought we would do something a little different. Hubby wanted to go on the Monorail. It takes you from one part of the city to another with several stops along the way.  We originally thought we would be getting on and off, so we decided to go to the very end and then work our way back. It was a fun experience. At the last stop we noticed we were fairly close to the Stratosphere. It was about a 10 minute walk, so we decided to go for it. We purchased tickets and took the elevator to the top 108th floor. Wow! What a view and pictures ...just don't do it justice. There were some bungee jumpers up there. They have to pay $100 to jump. We were asked if we would like to, but declined. We talked to a couple who recommended we have lunch at the Top of the World Restaurant on the floor just below us. The restaurant revolves around, so while you are eating you get a view of everything. and it is constantly moing.  We ordered their special which was surf and turf (filet mignon and lobster tail) which included soup or salad and dessert. It was really delicious, but a bit pricey . It was a once in a lifetime extravagance!  One day in Las Vegas was enough for us!  We had a lot of fun but, we were tired. We walked back to the Monorail, and took it back to where our truck was parked! Like I said, we were tired!

.
This was our cabin on the monorail. For a good share of the trip we had it all to ourselves

A view from the top floor

It can be very difficult to capture a bungee jumper going down! Got him!

Love this view from the top!

Looking ahead from our table at the revolving restaurant

It was 2:30 and the place wasn't busy. This was behind us! I can imagine at night!

If you look toward the floor you will see where the floor revolves. I set my purse on there
accidently and it went around. Al and the waitress had to go looking for it!  It was quickly found!

Another pretty view of Las Vegas

While we were eating lunch, Al noticed another bungee jumper ready to come down.
I quickly grabbed my camera and only got the legs!

This was our dessert, a fruit cup in a white chocolate cup and chocolate mousse
